Multiplication Tables Check

The multiplication times table check is used to determine whether Year 4 pupils can fluently recall their multiplication tables. Conducted as an on-screen check, the test (which has no pass mark) consists of 25 times table questions.

In 2024 the average score for the cohort was 21.7 marks reflecting a strong performance (National: 20.7 out of 25). The most common score in the check was 25 (full marks), with 38% of pupils achieving this score (National: 34%).

In 2023 the average score for the cohort was 20.1 marks. 21% of pupils scored 25 (full marks).

In 2022 the average score for the cohort was 21.4 marks reflecting a strong performance (National: 19.8 out of 25). The most common score in the check was 25 (full marks), with 30% of pupils achieving this score (National: 27%).
